Plan categories before dishes
The template starts with main dishes, sides, desserts, drinks and utensils. Set how many people you want in each category. A category capacity controls how many claims it takes, not how many servings a dish provides.

Ask what each guest is bringing
Use the dish question to collect a specific answer, such as vegetable lasagna. Keep ingredients or dietary notes as an optional question. Confirm important dietary requirements directly with the organizer.

Add the details people forget
Put the date, venue, serving-size guidance and kitchen arrangements in the description. Mention whether guests should bring serving utensils. Review the responses before the event to check the balance of dishes.

A few useful answers.

Can I include supplies as well as food?

Yes. The template includes plates and utensils. Add chairs, ice, napkins or any other items as separate slots with their own capacities.

Will Carven prevent two people bringing the same dish?

It limits claims per category or item. It does not compare free-text dish answers. Use specific item slots when you want only one person to bring a particular dish.

Is the signup sheet free?

Free includes two active signup sheets. Studio is $2 per month and includes unlimited active sheets. You do not need a credit card to start on Free.

Do participants need an account?

No. The organizer creates an account; participants claim a place or respond from the shared link with their name and email.

Are confirmation emails included?

Automatic confirmation emails require a paid plan and the organizer’s email-sending setting to be enabled. Free participants can see their confirmation on the page.
